The water based adhesive created tension between the print and repair resulting in wrinkles.
The paper from the print and the gummed paper have two different reactions to the addition of water through the Arabic gum. The print paper wanted to move in a different manner than the gummed paper, and could not because of the adhesive holding them together. As a result of this tension.
the print wrinkled around the gummed paper.
